For comprehensive ABA treatment, aiming for 30-40 hours per week of direct intervention is often recommended, and generally, 25-40 hours per week is a good range. Treatment should also continue for at least 2 years to see meaningful results. A study analyzing different intensities showed that higher intensity (26-40 hours/week) led to the greatest gains in cognitive functioning, adaptive behavior, and overall autism severity.
